The Bomben Skull Ring is a detailed recreation of one of the three biomechanical heads in Giger’s 1983 painting, BOMBEN I, Work No. 505, The highly detailed 3D miniaturization of the Bomben Skull was originally commissioned for the control knobs of the new, 2008, H.R. Giger / IBANEZ guitar, and was sculpted by Eli Livingston under the supervision of Giger. In the ring adaptation (also sculpted by Livingston) the wraparound visor determined the finger band’s width and circumference, so it required that the ring be produced in two different skull sizes, 1” and .75” in height, to accommodate both thick and thin fingers. The ring is not hollowed out, it is heavy and solid sterling silver.
